Fifty Fathoms Tech 45 mm joins Blancpain’s permanent collection

Blancpain is adding the Fifty Fathoms Tech 45 mm to its permanent collection, following the 100-piece limited series launched last March.

This non-limited version comes with a new interchangeable strap system that allows quick, tool-free changes and is delivered with three rubber strap options in black, white, or vivid orange, blending technical performance with an unexpected touch of style.

Housed in a Grade 23 brushed titanium case measuring 45 mm in diameter and 14.10 mm in thickness, the Fifty Fathoms Tech is equipped with a unidirectional 120-click ceramic bezel, slightly inclined towards the dial and optimised for use with gloved hands.

The helium escape valve, positioned on the caseband at 10 o'clock, is designed for saturation diving.

When diving to great depths, helium can infiltrate the watch during hyperbaric saturation in a chamber. During decompression, unscrewing the valve allows the gas – which could otherwise increase internal pressure and cause damage – to escape without compromising the watch’s water resistance, rated at 30 bar (300 metres / 1,000 feet).

Protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the absolute black dial absorbs up to 97% of light, an impressive feat that ensures maximum legibility in murky depths or low-light conditions. 

This deep black background creates a sharp contrast with the luminescent block-shaped appliqués, the orange central seconds hand, and the TECH inscription on the dial.

The new Fifty Fathoms Tech is powered by the in-house Calibre 1315A, a high‑performance movement operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivering a remarkable 120-hour (5-day) power reserve through its three-barrel architecture.

A non-magnetic silicon balance spring is employed to ensure this performance without compromising the movement’s resistance to magnetism.

The sapphire case back reveals the movement’s refined decorations, underscoring Blancpain’s commitment to haute horlogerie even in its most utilitarian creations.

Delivered in Blancpain’s water-resistant, shock-resistant, and reusable Peli case, the new Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech, ref. 5029 12B30 94A, has a suggested retail price of CHF 19,000 / €22,750 / US$22,700.
