Inspired by a 1970s model, the new Mido Ocean Star Worldtimer stands out with its distinctive black-and-red checkerboard dial and vintage Mido logo.

Its vintage appeal is combined with a high-precision automatic movement and water resistance up to 200 metres / 660 feet, ensuring uncompromised reliability.

Protected by a glassbox-style sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the silver-toned dial is enhanced by a velvet-like finish, with the black-and-red checkerboard pattern marking the time intervals. 

Readability is further improved by the use of natural-colour Super-LumiNova for the luminous dots and the polished diamond-cut hands. The day and date double window at 3 o’clock completes the indications.

The 40.5 mm case, in satin-finished and polished stainless steel, is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a black aluminium ring with city names for world time.

The movement of choice is the automatic Mido Caliber 80 (based on the ETA C07.621), which beats at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a remarkable 80-hour power reserve, more than three full days. To enhance performance, the movement is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, minimising the effects of magnetism.

The caseback is embellished with a polished starfish in relief, the symbol of the Ocean Star collection and a tribute to the brand’s historic expertise in water resistance.

The watch comes with a black leather “Bund” strap, a nod to the pilots of the past century. This two-piece strap offers multiple wearing options: a clean black leather strap with red stitching, or a more rugged, sportier version with a white-stitched leather base.
