Exclusive live photos of the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 wristwatch, taken at the Breguet boutique in Milan.
Created to celebrate Breguet’s 250th anniversary, the new Classique Souscription 2025 stands out with its redesigned gold case, radiant Grand Feu enamel dial featuring a single flame-blued hand, and a newly developed movement whose architecture reflects the brand’s historic codes.
Following its official presentation at the end of April, we recently had the pleasure of experiencing this highly collectible timepiece at the Breguet boutique in Milan. We greatly appreciated its flawless execution and the evident attention devoted to the design of every single detail.
Now, we are pleased to share some live photos of the watch with our readers.
The Classique Souscription 2025 draws inspiration from one of the early Souscription timepieces conceived by Abraham-Louis Breguet in the late 18th century, a single-hand pocket watch that combined technical ingenuity with a pioneering approach to accessibility.
Introduced around 1797, the original model featured a pristine enamel dial, a simplified movement, and an innovative pre-order system requiring just a 25 percent deposit, paving the way for one of the earliest examples of series production in watchmaking.
The white Grand Feu enamel dial of the new wristwatch features a single steel Breguet hand, flame-blued and entirely hand-shaped. Its curved tip points to Breguet’s slightly inclined Arabic numerals and a circular chemin de fer, marked at the hours and at 5, 10, 15, and 30-minute intervals.
The numerals and minute markers, along with the Breguet signature at 12 o’clock, are executed in black Petit Feu enamel.
The dial is protected by a gently curved sapphire crystal that blends beautifully into the case.
Measuring 40 mm in diameter and 10.8 mm in height, the case introduces a new design whose lines are highlighted by the alternation of polished surfaces and the delicately satin-brushed case band.
The curved lugs follow the shape of the wrist, enhancing comfort.
This model marked the introduction of Breguet gold, a distinctive 18K gold alloy composed of gold (75%), silver, copper, and palladium, resulting in a warm, subtly pink hue reminiscent of the gold used by 18th-century watchmakers.
Moreover, this metal is also particularly resistant to discolouration, ensuring a lasting and refined finish.
The transparent sapphire crystal case back showcases the new VS00 calibre, which draws direct inspiration from the architecture of the original Souscription model.
Crafted in gilded brass with a tone matching Breguet gold, the 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) hand-wound movement offers a remarkable four-day power reserve delivered by a single barrel. The mainplate and bridges are finely shot-blasted, reflecting the finishing techniques used in historical Breguet movements.
At the center of the movement sits a distinctive ratchet wheel engraved with a quote from A. L. Breguet that captures the design philosophy of the Souscription watch.
The inscription, presented in his graceful cursive script, reads in English: “The arrangement is so simple, the escapement and the regulator are so apparent that an attentive observer can grasp the mechanism at a glance.”
Blued screws and rubies complete the ensemble.
Completed by a blue alligator leather strap secured to the wrist by a pin buckle in Breguet gold, the Classique Souscription 2025 is delivered in an exquisite presentation box inspired by the red Moroccan leather cases once used by its founder.
The Classique Souscription 2025 offers a timeless tribute to Breguet’s unique heritage, successfully blending historical design with modern craftsmanship. breguet.com
