Baume & Mercier introduces five new Riviera models that capture the spirit of summer with fresh colours and the collection’s distinctive sport-chic style, expressed through the iconic twelve-sided bezel and a design that adapts effortlessly to every occasion.
The first model marks the return of the white dial, previously seen at the relaunch of the collection in 2021. A second model, combines a gold-tone dial with a Baumatic movement. Complementing these are three new women’s references featuring pastel dials.
The Riviera 10829 stands out for its radiant white dial, decorated with a wave and mountain motif and framed by a black outer flange. This aesthetic recalls the look of the Riviera Chronograph 10827 presented at Watches & Wonders earlier this year.
The faceted rhodium-plated hands, along with the riveted Roman numerals and hour markers, are filled with white Super-LumiNova X1 that glows blue in the dark.
A black seconds hand introduces a crisp contrast to the clean design. As a signature touch, the Phi symbol—representing the golden ratio and serving as the brand’s emblem—appears both as the counterweight of the seconds hand and engraved on the octagonal crown. A date aperture is positioned at 3 o’clock.
The stainless steel case measures 42 mm in diameter and 10.66 mm in thickness, with satin-polished finishing and the signature twelve-sided bezel secured by four screws in polished and sun-satin stainless steel. Water resistance is ensured up to 10 ATM (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet).
The caseback, also secured by four screws, features a sapphire crystal that reveals the automatic movement based on the reliable Sellita SW200. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a 38-hour power reserve. This model is priced at €2,990.
The Riviera 10822 is a special Baumatic edition distinguished by its 39 mm x 10.2 mm satin-brushed stainless steel case and polished, sun-brushed bezel. It is the first Riviera Baumatic Special Edition to feature an opaque dial, chosen to enhance the richness of its golden hue and vertical brushed texture.
The design aligns with other recent Baumatic references such as the Riviera Perpetual Calendar 10742 and the Riviera Chronograph Flyback 10828.
A snailed minute track surrounds the dial, dotted with riveted tone-on-tone golden indexes. Rhodium-plated openworked hands indicate the hours and minutes, while a blued steel seconds hand, once again featuring the Phi counterweight, adds a vivid detail.
The date is displayed through a wide aperture at 3 o’clock. The octagonal crown is adorned with a blue line that echoes the colour of the seconds hand.
Visible through a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the Baumatic BM13-1975A calibre operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and delivers a substantial five-day power reserve (120 hours). It also offers resistance to magnetic fields up to 1,500 Gauss, increasing its reliability in everyday use.
The movement is finished with circular-grained bridges, a sand-blasted and snailed baseplate, and a gold-toned openworked oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève and snailing. This model is priced at €4,300.
The three women’s editions, are housed in 33 mm x 9.22 mm cases crafted from satin-polished stainless steel. Each features the iconic twelve-sided bezel secured by four screws.
The pastel dials, available in warm silver (10810), light blue (10811), and pink (10812), are fitted with faceted hands and riveted Roman numerals and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova. A practical date display sits at 3 o’clock.
The free octagonal crown bears an embossed Phi logo, and the solid caseback, echoing the bezel’s shape, can be custom-engraved. These models are powered by quartz movements with a 10-year battery life and offer water resistance to 5 ATM (approximately 50 metres). Each is priced at €1,950.
All five new Riviera models are fitted with integrated three-row bracelets in satin-polished stainless steel, fastened with a triple folding clasp and security push-pieces.
Thanks to Baume & Mercier’s Fast Strap interchangeability system, the bracelets can be swapped easily and without tools for any of the brand’s optional straps. baume-et-mercier.com
