Richard Mille reveals RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic for the 2025 race edition

Launched in 2002, the Le Mans Classic has become a biennial highlight for motorsport enthusiasts, bringing together legendary racing cars that once made history at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 12th edition, set to take place from July 3 to 6, 2025, will feature over 750 cars from 1923 through the 2000s, divided into six categories representing different eras, competing on the 13.6 km Sarthe circuit.

Beyond the track, Le Mans transforms into a vibrant hub of automotive culture, with more than 9,000 classic cars on display from over 80 marques and 200 clubs. From 30,000 visitors in its first year to over 235,000 in 2023, the event continues to grow in scale and significance.

To celebrate the upcoming 2025 edition, Richard Mille now presents a new limited edition of 150 timepieces: the RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic.

This special edition of the RM 30-01, recently highlighted in our “In Pictures” article, incorporates the signature colours of the iconic racing event.

The 42 mm x 49.94 mm x 17.59 mm tonneau-shaped case features titanium bezels framing a Green Quartz TPT caseband. 

Green and orange accents on the dial, a chequered flag motif around the oversized date window, the Le Mans Classic logo on the sapphire crystal caseback, and a vented green rubber strap complete the racing-inspired aesthetic.

For this model, Richard Mille modified the self-winding Calibre RMAR2 to accommodate a new 24-hour counter, with the “16” numeral highlighted in green to reference the traditional start time of the race.

The titanium bridges and baseplate, together with the 55-hour power reserve indicator, form a design that recalls the layout of a racing circuit.

The clutch engagement indicator at 11 o’clock shows whether the rotor is in the winding phase (on) or disengaged (off).

Just above the oversized date display at 4 o’clock, the function-selector indicator shows the active setting: W for winding, D for date correction, and H for setting the hands. Each function is selected via the push-button at 2 o’clock—similar in operation to a car’s gearbox.

To prevent overwinding, the RM 30-01’s variable-geometry rotor automatically disengages when the 55-hour power reserve is reached. 

This allows the 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) RMAR2 calibre to maintain optimal and consistent torque.
