Mido Ocean Star GMT with golden and chocolate hues

Mido presents a new interpretation of its Ocean Star GMT model, characterised by refined contrasting shades of golden yellow, deep black, and chocolate.

A timepiece of great practicality, the Ocean Star GMT Special Edition combines the performance of a diver’s watch with the utility of a second time zone.

The 44 mm x 13.4 mm stainless steel case is enhanced by a yellow gold-coloured PVD coating. Its lines are emphasised by the alternation of satin-brushed and polished surfaces.

Protected by two guards and decorated with the Mido logo, the screw-down crown ensures water resistance up to 20 bar (approximately 200 metres / 660 feet).

The gold-coloured hands, matching the applied indexes, indicate the time in the primary time zone along with the minutes and seconds. A varnished chocolate-coloured hand points to the second time zone on the 24-hour flange, where a brown background distinguishes daytime hours from black nighttime hours.

The dial is a velvety black, enhanced by the matching ceramic insert of the unidirectional rotating bezel – a typical feature of diving watches.

The hands and applied indexes, along with the luminous dot on the bezel that marks the start of the dive time, are coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility in low-light conditions. 

A discreet date window is positioned at 3 o’clock. The sapphire crystal has been treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides.

Beneath the solid caseback engraved with 24 global time zones, the self-winding Caliber 80 (based on the ETA C07.661) beats at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve.

The Nivachron balance spring, made of a titanium-based alloy, reduces the effects of magnetic fields, enhances shock resistance, and contributes to long-term precision.

The watch is paired with a brown rubber strap featuring relief motifs, secured by a folding clasp with diving extension.
