The new Master Control Calendar by Jaeger-LeCoultre offers a contemporary interpretation of a classic design, introducing a sophisticated grained dial in two shades of grey, subtly reminiscent of the sector dials of the mid-20th century.

Presented in a limited edition of 500 pieces, this triple calendar complication, also known as a complete calendar, follows the silver version released in 2020 as part of the relaunched Master Control collection and the blue variation of 2022.

Inspired by the Maison’s renowned triple calendar models of the 1940s, the dial has a classical layout: the day and month appear in the upper half, the moon phase in the lower part, and the date around the periphery, indicated by a jumping hand.

Contained within the small seconds sub-dial, the moon phase is set against a star-studded blue sky, with the polished moon reflecting the dark grey hour ring. 

Outside the hour circle, the minutes chapter ring is light grey, while the outermost circle displays the date against a dark grey background.

The contrast between the light and dark greys is enhanced by the way the grained texture of the dial absorbs and reflects the light differently depending on the shade.

Once a month, between the 15th and the 16th, the red-tipped date hand leaps swiftly across the 90 degrees that separate the two dates, ensuring that the moon phase display is never obscured.

Other dial elements are typical of the Master Control collection, including the elongated triangular applied indexes, complemented by Arabic numerals at 12, 3, and 9, and the faceted Dauphine hands, polished on one side and brushed on the other.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding Manufacture Calibre 866 operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivers a 70-hour power reserve.

The 40 mm x 10.95 mm Master Control case is crafted from stainless steel and alternates polished (bezel and top of the lugs) and satin-brushed (caseband) surfaces. It offers water resistance to 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet).
