TAG Heuer’s Carrera Date Twin-Time pairs a green teal dial with a practical GMT function. Read our review with exclusive pics. Price €4,950. WDA2114
Last April, TAG Heuer launched the latest generation of the Carrera Day-Date alongside the Carrera Date Twin-Time, a model featuring a practical GMT function for tracking two time zones at once. It was designed not only for travellers but also for anyone whose life or work connects them with people across different time zones.
Following our presentation article, we had the opportunity to wear and test this attractive timepiece for a few days, and we are now pleased to share our pictures and impressions with our readers.
The dial is an eye-catcher with its sophisticated teal green hue, inspired by the racing livery of motorsport’s golden age.
The sunray-brushed finish creates fascinating light effects.
Surrounding the dial, a bicolour (white and teal green) flange with a 24-hour scale indicates day and night.
Used in combination with the red-lacquered GMT hand, it displays the time in a second time zone.
Protected by a bevelled sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment and completed by applied rhodium-plated Arabic numerals, the dial offers excellent readability, always a hallmark of the Carrera.
The hour and minute hands are treated with white Super-LumiNova, glowing green in the dark. Inspired by 1970s Carrera models, they feature a groove down the centre with black-filled tips.
The shape of the red-tipped GMT hand recalls the precision of watchmaking tools such as tweezers, while a rectangular aperture at 6 o’clock shows the date in white against a teal background.
All functions are managed via the crown: in position 0 it winds the movement; in position 1 it sets the second time zone (clockwise) or the date (anticlockwise); and in position 2 it adjusts the time.
Measuring 41 mm in diameter and 12.60 mm thick, the stainless steel case is water-resistant to 10 bar (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet). Alternating brushed and polished surfaces highlight its dynamic lines.
The typical Carrera traits, including the signature lugs, here slightly shortened for greater comfort, are present. A slim polished bezel leaves ample space for the dial.
Visible through the screw-down sapphire crystal caseback, the TH31-03 movement, co-developed with Manufacture AMT and produced exclusively for TAG Heuer, operates at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivers an 80-hour power reserve.
The shield-shaped oscillating mass is openworked to better showcase the meticulous finishes, including Geneva stripes.
A new Victory Wreath engraving on the caseback ring pays tribute to the collection’s racing heritage.
The Carrera Date Twin-Time is fitted with the iconic TAG Heuer Carrera H bracelet in stainless steel, alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces.
It integrates a new quick-change link system for tool-free adjustments and a double folding clasp.
Its tapered, flexible construction ensures both comfort and elegance on most wrists. For reference, the wrist shown in our pictures measures 17.8 cm / 7 in. Lug width is 21.5 mm.
The new TAG Heuer Carrera Date Twin-Time (ref. WDA2114.BA0043) is priced at CHF 4,750 / €4,950 / US$5,000.
The Carrera Date Twin-Time enriches the Carrera family with a refined balance of practicality and style. Its teal dial brings a distinctive charm, while the GMT complication adds real everyday usefulness. Combined with a robust movement, strong finishing, and an ergonomic bracelet, it makes a compelling choice for anyone looking for a contemporary traveller’s watch with unmistakable Carrera DNA. tagheuer.com
