Tudor unveils the Black Bay Chrono ‘Carbon 25’ in carbon fibre, limited to 2,025 pieces

Tudor reinforces its links with motorsport through the release of the new Black Bay Chrono ‘Carbon 25’, featuring a case made entirely of carbon fibre.

The redesigned case is slightly larger yet slimmer than the 316L stainless steel versions of the model, now measuring 42 mm in diameter and 14.3 mm thick, compared to 41 mm x 14.4 mm for the steel version. It is paired with a fixed bezel, also crafted from carbon fibre and engraved with a tachymetric scale.

Even the end-links attaching the hybrid strap to the case are made from carbon fibre. 

The screw-down crown bearing the Tudor rose in relief and the screw-down chronograph pushers are made of titanium with a black PVD coating.

The aesthetic of the domed “racing white” dial draws inspiration from the 2025 Visa Cash App RB Formula One car—one of Tudor’s official sporting partners—and features contrasting circular sub-counters crafted from carbon fibre to match the case.

The “Snowflake” hands, a hallmark of Tudor diver’s watches introduced in 1969, are outlined in black, as are the hour markers. Both are filled with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova for optimal readability in low-light conditions. 

The 45-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock is visually balanced by the running seconds at 9 o’clock, while a date aperture at 6 o’clock completes the display.

The case back is made of titanium with a black PVD coating and displays the individual number of each piece.

Inside, the MT5813 chronograph calibre beats at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a 70-hour power reserve. Certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), the movement includes a silicon balance spring, column wheel, and vertical clutch.

Derived from the Breitling B01 chronograph calibre, it incorporates a high-precision regulating organ developed by Tudor and features exclusive finishes. This movement is the result of a collaboration between the two brands, combining their technical expertise in movement design and manufacturing.

Water-resistant to 200 metres / 660 feet, the watch is fitted with a hybrid leather-and-rubber strap featuring a tyre-tread pattern.
