IWC adds the 35 mm Ingenieur Automatic 35 to its Ingenieur family

The Ingenieur range was the protagonist of IWC’s show at Watches and Wonders Geneva. Among various new additions, the Schaffhausen-based brand launched the Ingenieur Automatic 35, presented in three variations, all housed in 35 mm x 9.44 mm cases.

One model is crafted from 18-carat 5N red gold with a gold-coloured dial (ref. IW324903), while two are made from stainless steel, with either a black (ref. IW324906) or a silver-plated dial (ref. IW324901).

This new, more compact automatic model retains all the characteristic design elements of the 40 mm version introduced in 2023, including the bezel with five functional screws, the integrated bracelet attaching via its middle links, and the “Grid” dial with applied indices.

The result is a smaller, flatter execution of the instantly recognisable Ingenieur look and feel, maintaining the same ergonomics and wearing comfort.

The three new models are finished with a combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces, adding texture and reflecting light beautifully. Secured to the case ring with five functional screws, the bezel is satin-finished with a polished outer edge. 

The H-links of the bracelet are also satin-finished with polished edges, while the centre links and case back are fully polished.

A distinctive element of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 is its finely executed dial, characterised by the signature “Grid” pattern of intersecting lines and squares. The date window is neatly framed, adding further depth to the design. 

On all three models, the appliques are individually mounted by hand and filled with Super-LumiNova. 

The 18-carat 5N gold version features solid gold appliques and gold-plated hands, while the two stainless steel models are equipped with steel appliques and rhodium-plated hands.

All three versions of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 are equipped with open case backs showcasing the self-winding 47110 calibre, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 42 hours. 

The movement is finished with circular graining and Geneva stripes, and features a gold-plated oscillating weight.

Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, the new Ingenieur Automatic 35 is priced at €11,400 in stainless steel and €42,200 in 18-carat 5N red gold. iwc.com
