Created by German watchmaker Stefan Kudoke, the Kudoke 2 model was introduced on occasion of Baselworld 2019 later winning the Petite Aiguille prize - the best watch between CHF 4,000-10,000 - at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Geneve 2019.

The Kudoke 2 was characterised by a silver-white dial with blued hands and was followed, in July 2020, by the Kudoke 2 Nocturne Limited Edition featuring a darker galvano-anthracite, frosted dial. Different movement finishes were used for each of the two versions.

Today, Kudoke is presenting a new limited edition of its award-winning model, the Kudoke 2 Grüner Wald Sonderedition (Green Forest Special Edition).

Developed in collaboration with EsperLuxe, a curating boutique luxury specialised in independent watchmaking and based in Norwood, Massachusetts, USA, this 10-piece edition comes in a 39 mm x 10.7 mm polished stainless steel case with slightly curved lugs and a beautifully refined onion-shaped crown bearing the K letter in relief. Featuring sapphire glasses on both sides, the watch is water resistant to 5 atm (approximately 50 metres / 165 feet).

The deep green frosted dial is grained to achieve a coarser texture that reflects beautifully in various lighting. Like the other editions, the Grüner Wald features a mirror polished, infinity-symbol hour hand accompanying a raised chapter ring for the minutes.

The rotating domed sky disk at 12 o'clock is hand-engraved and electroplated in yellow gold, black rhodium and white rhodium.

The caseback reveals the specialty of Stefan Kudoke: hand-engraving. Beyond the standard hand-engraved balance cock on the Kudoke 2, this Sonderedition features a hand engraving on the main bridges as well in the ultimate style of relief engraving. What distinguishes relief work from other styles is the removal of negative space, leaving a raised design.
