Baume et Mercier quietly released two new Capeland chronographs, identified by references 10451 and 10452, in sporty cases measuring 42 mm (diameter) x 13.35 mm (thickness).
The first model, the Capeland ref. 10451, presents a stainless steel fixed bezel, crown and push buttons with a middle case in sandblasted stainless steel with ADLC coating.
The "reverse panda dial" features a black background and snailed silver-coloured subdials at 3 o'clock (running seconds) and 9 o'clock (chronograph 30 minutes).
The rhodium-plated indexes, just like the hours and minutes hands, are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in poor light conditions. The chronograph hands are easily recognizable for their orange colour.
The Capeland ref. 01452 is almost all-black, with a sandblasted steel case with black ADLC coating and polished stainless steel crown and push buttons.
The two horizontal snailed counters are black like the entire background against which the rhodium-plated indexes and hours and minutes hands stand out clearly.
Both models are powered by the Swiss ETA 2894-2 automatic movement beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of 42 hours.
Water resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (approximately 50 metres / 165 feet), the Capeland Chronograph is matched to a sleek black calfskin strap with sailcloth pattern and secured to the wrist by a triple folding buckle with security push-pieces.
The retail price of the new Baume et Mercier Capeland Chronograph ref. 10451 and ref. 10452 is Euro 3,450 (including VAT) / US$ 3,550 (excluding sales taxes). baume-et-mercier.com
