German watchmaker Stefan Kudoke founded his own brand to pursue his goal to create timepieces of great personality applying traditional watchmaking methods, especially for the finishing of dials and movements.
This philosophy is evident in his latest creation, the Kudoke 2, recently showcased at Baselworld 2019.
Framed by a perfectly sized 39 mm stainless steel case, the beautiful frosted dial dial of the Kudoke 2 is rich of eye-catching details.
The two edge-polished rhodium-plated rings gives depth while providing numerals and indications in a clear way. The hands are thermally blued with the infinity sign to enhance the hour hand.
The most characterizing element is the rotating domed sky disk at 12 o'clock, hand-engraved and electroplated in three colours. The small gold-plated triangle indicates whether it is day or night.
Turning the watch, we can appreciate the hand-finished Kaliber 1 and its frosted and gilded plate revealed through the sapphire crystal case back.
Inspired to the design of historical English pocket watches, this hand-wound 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) movement integrates, on the dial side, a module that controls the 24- hour indication. The power reserve is 46 hours.
All finishes - the polishing of the edges, the engravings and the surface treatment of the wheel bridge - are rigorously performed by hand. The infinity sign used for the hour hand can be found again engraved in the balance cock.
