Longines debuts new Spirit Pilot and Spirit Pilot Flyback watches for 2025. Prices start from €2,600
For over a century, Longines has been part of aviation’s greatest chapters, creating instruments trusted by pilots and explorers. In 2020, the brand translated this legacy into the Spirit line.
In 2025, the collection expands with the new Spirit Pilot and Spirit Pilot Flyback, two models that refine the original concept with sharper design and advanced functionality.
The first model, the three-hand Longines Spirit Pilot, features a redesigned 39 mm x 11.5 mm case in stainless steel with improved ergonomics and a refined aesthetic that enhances both comfort and visual appeal. The screw-down crown helps ensure water resistance up to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).
Protected by a domed sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides, the clean matt black dial has been further streamlined.
The five stars and date indication from the original Spirit three- hand model have been removed, while the minute track has been refined for enhanced clarity.
Gold-coloured hands and 12 applied Arabic numerals stand out clearly for optimal readability.
This pilot watch is powered by the exclusive Longines calibre L888.4, featuring a silicon balance spring and innovative components that provide magnetic resistance 10 times greater than the ISO 764 standard.
The self-winding mechanical movement delivers exceptional precision with a 72-hour power reserve and carries official chronometer certification from the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).
It is also protected by a new screw-down case back, representing a significant change in construction.
The Spirit Pilot offers versatile wearing options, with a choice between a stainless steel bracelet featuring a folding clasp (ref. L3.809.4.53.6) or interchangeable straps in either brown leather with a folding clasp (ref. L3.809.4.53.2) or new textile- style green rubber with a pin buckle (ref. L3.809.4.53.9). The lug width is 20 mm.
Prices start from €2,600 / US$2,700.
The new Spirit Pilot Flyback introduces a refined 39.5 mm x 13.4 mm stainless steel case for a sleeker, more comfortable profile, along with a bidirectional rotating bezel featuring an enhanced rotating system and, for the first time, integrating a countdown timer.
A box-shaped sapphire crystal and a matt black dial contribute to its aviation-inspired design.
Gold-coloured hands and applied numerals coated with Super-LumiNova ensure excellent legibility in all lighting conditions.
The movement of choice is the hand-wound Longines calibre L792.4, visible through a transparent screw-down case back.
Equipped with a silicon balance spring and antimagnetic components compliant with ISO 764 standards, the movement incorporates a column-wheel chronograph with flyback function.
First developed by Longines in the 1930s, the flyback function allows the chronograph hand to be reset and restarted instantly with a single press of the pusher. In contrast to a standard chronograph that requires three separate steps (stop, reset and restart), the flyback makes it possible to time consecutive intervals more quickly, a feature originally designed with aviation in mind.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of up to 68 hours and is officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC.
Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, this model is offered with either a stainless steel bracelet (ref. L3.721.4.53.6) or interchangeable brown leather strap (ref. L3.721.4.53.2), both featuring micro-adjustable folding clasps. The lug width is 20 mm.
Prices of the Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback start from €5,250 / US$5,350. longines.com
