At Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, TAG Heuer presents the Monaco Evergraph, a new interpretation of its square chronograph that introduces a fundamentally reworked mechanical architecture.
At the centre of this development is the new Calibre TH80-00, developed by the TAG Heuer Lab and designed around a compliant chronograph mechanism that departs from traditional constructions to rethink how the chronograph operates.
Unlike conventional chronographs, which rely on multiple levers and springs, this mechanism uses flexible bistable components to control the start, stop and reset functions through elastic deformation.
Manufactured using LIGA technology, these elements are designed to deliver consistent actuation over time, maintaining the same tactile response regardless of repeated use.
The movement operates at a frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) and is COSC-certified, combining high-frequency precision with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
It is also equipped with a TH-Carbonspring oscillator, enhancing resistance to magnetic fields while supporting chronometric stability.
Accompanied by a five-year warranty, the movement is decorated with a checkered-flag motif and a shield-shaped oscillating weight, referencing the brand’s longstanding connection with motorsport.
Developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, the calibre adopts an inverted architecture, placing the barrel, gear train and escapement on the dial side.
This open-worked layout makes the regulating organ and chronograph components directly visible, while a newly conceived automatic winding system completes the construction.
The Monaco Evergraph is housed in a 40 mm Grade 5 titanium case, available either in a black DLC-coated version with red details (ref. CEW5180.FT8122) or in natural Grade 5 titanium with blue accents (ref. CEW5181.FT8123).
The case has been redesigned to improve ergonomics, with more tapered profiles and refined proportions while retaining the model’s characteristic square geometry.
The crown remains positioned at 9 o’clock, in line with the original Monaco, while elongated pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock operate the chronograph. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres / 330 feet.
Both versions feature a domed sapphire crystal on the front and a square sapphire caseback, offering a full view of the movement, which is specifically shaped to fit the Monaco case.
The dial is constructed from transparent material, creating the impression that the indications are suspended within the case.
Two counters are positioned symmetrically, with the chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock.
The central chronograph seconds hand is highlighted with a coloured lacquered tip matching the overall design.
Applied indexes and open-worked hour and minute hands are treated with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring legibility against the skeletonised background.
The black DLC version features sandblasted and brushed bridges with black gold-coated hands and red accents, paired with a black rubber strap with textile embossing and red stitching.
The titanium version adopts a lighter aesthetic, with rhodium-plated hands and blue opaline counters, complemented by a blue rubber strap with grey stitching.
Both versions are fitted with a folding clasp in matching titanium.
With the Monaco Evergraph, TAG Heuer introduces a different approach to the chronograph, focusing on mechanical simplification through flexible components rather than traditional assemblies.
Combined with a high-frequency COSC-certified movement, magnetic resistance and extended power reserve, the watch represents a technical evolution within the brand’s chronograph-focused portfolio.
The TAG Heuer Monaco Evergraph is available from April 2026, with a price set at CHF 23,000 / €25,000 / US$25,000).
Alongside the Evergraph, TAG Heuer also introduced a redesigned Monaco Chronograph, revisiting the original 1969 reference 1133 with a more faithful case architecture in grade 5 titanium, refined ergonomics and a new manufacture movement.
Offered in three colourways, including the signature blue associated with Steve McQueen, it marks a considered evolution of the model. Stay tuned for our review in the coming days. tagheuer.com
