Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces the Master Control Chronometre collection, a new line that combines the brand’s long-standing focus on precision with a contemporary design built around an integrated metal bracelet.
The collection debuts with three models, the Date, Date Power Reserve and Perpetual Calendar, each reflecting a different approach to functionality while sharing a common aesthetic and technical foundation.
The Master Control name dates back to the 1950s, a decade focused on improving watch reliability and timing. Over the years, the collection has become known for pairing technical precision with a simple, clean design.
The new Master Control Chronometre continues this history, taking inspiration from the 1973 Master Mariner Chronomètre, a watch that featured a steel case and integrated bracelet well before that style became common.

A key update is the High Precision Guarantee (HPG) seal. This is a new in-house certification that works alongside the standard COSC chronometer testing.
While COSC tests the movement alone, the HPG protocol tests the fully assembled watch to see how it handles daily use. It subjects the watch to changes in temperature, position, shocks, and altitude over several days.
Additionally, the seal confirms that the movement meets specific finishing standards, including traditional details like Côtes de Genève, perlage and bevelled bridges applied throughout.
The design of the Master Control Chronometre collection reflects a careful integration of case and bracelet.
The 39 mm cases of the Date Power Reserve and Perpetual Calendar models, as well as the slightly more compact 38 mm case of the Date version, are characterised by slim profiles—9.2 mm and 8.4 mm respectively—and a combination of polished and satin-brushed surfaces.
The integrated three-row bracelet extends the lines of the case, with alternating finishes and sharply defined angles that echo the Dauphine hands and faceted hour markers.
Sunray-brushed dials, available in blue-grey or bronze tones depending on the version, provide a subtle gradient effect while maintaining clear legibility, reinforced by a peripheral seconds track.
The Master Control Chronometre Date Power Reserve introduces a new in-house movement, Calibre 738. Measuring 4.97 mm in thickness, it operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and delivers a power reserve of 70 hours.
The movement drives central hours, minutes and seconds, along with a date display and a power reserve indicator arranged symmetrically on the dial.
The layout, with sub-dials positioned along the horizontal axis, recalls historical models such as the Futurematic while maintaining a contemporary execution.
The Master Control Chronometre Perpetual Calendar is powered by Calibre 868, also operating at 4 Hz and offering a 70-hour power reserve.
Despite its complexity, the movement remains relatively slim at 4.72 mm, allowing the case to retain balanced proportions.
The calendar indications—day, date, month and year—are arranged across four sub-dials, with a moon phase display at 6 o’clock.
The mechanism automatically accounts for varying month lengths and leap years, requiring no manual correction until 2100 if kept wound.
All indications can be adjusted simultaneously via a single corrector, simplifying operation.
The most streamlined expression of the collection is the Master Control Chronometre Date, housed in a 38 mm case with a thickness of 8.4 mm. It is driven by the self-winding Calibre 899, offering a 70-hour power reserve.
The display is limited to hours, minutes, seconds and date.
Across all models, sapphire casebacks reveal the movements, including openworked 22K gold rotors and carefully executed finishing.
Technical refinements such as a redesigned gear train and silicon escapement contribute to efficiency and resistance to external influences, while the high-frequency balance enhances stability.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronometre Date (ref. Q4158120) is priced at €14,600 / US$14,200 in stainless steel and €55,500 / US$52,500 in pink gold (ref. Q415216J). The Master Control Chronometre Date Power Reserve (ref. Q4168120), offered exclusively in steel, is set at €18,000 / US$17,000.
