The Cyrus Klepcys Alarm with blue dial comes in a distinctive cushion-shaped case which, despite its generous dimensions (46 mm crowns excluded), sits comfortably on the wrist thanks to the ergonomic profile and lugs.
Crafted from stainless steel, the case is characterized by two symmetrical crowns at 3 and 9 o'clock. Both crowns are functional in Cyrus watches but the Klepcys Alarm represents an exception as only the crown placed at 3 o'clock is operational, while the one at 9 o'clock is purely aesthetic.
The multi-level blue dial is decorated with engraved triangular motifs and dominated by a large opening that makes it possible to see a section of the movement. The eye is immediately attracted by the alarm hammer whose design recalls the shape of a bell. Beautifully finished with brushed surfaces and bevelled, polished corners, this hammer strikes various chimes producing harmonious notes for a maximum time of 16 seconds.
The hour, minute and second hands are slightly off-centre to the left and show the time on an upper arch with diamond cut applied Arabic numerals and indices, all generously filled with Super-LumiNova for visibility even in poor light conditions.
Between 10 and 12 o'clock, we find a rotating blue/black disc that provides the day/night indication.
The secondary dial, between 3 and 6 o'clock, is used to set the alarm function. Surrounded by two concentric rings, one white with Arabic numerals on a 24-hour scale and an outer black one indicating the minutes on a scale of 15, it has a central two-tone blue/black part subdivided by a red line to distinguish daytime from nighttime.
To set the alarm, it is sufficient to pull out the crown in first position and adjust hours (on a 24-hour scale) and minutes (at intervals of 5) at the desired time. To activate or disable the alarm, just press the crown at 3 o'clock and the small hand at 7 o'clock will switch from off (red) to on (blue) and vice versa.
Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the in-house manufactured hand-wound CYR1280 calibre ensures a power reserve of 72 hours, or 3 days.

The transparent sapphire crystal case back displays the beautiful finishes of the movement highlighting the two parallel barrels with the ratchet-wheel embellished with black lacquer and the helix, Cyrus's symbol. The barrel placed close to the balance wheel powers the main time while the second barrel provides the energy to the subdial that activates the alarm.
Finishes are in line with the highest Haute Horlogerie standards with the bridges of the movement finely decorated with an engraved, curved sunray pattern on which the jewels and the mirror-polished screws stand out.

Interesting watch. It looks a bit large for my wrist but the complication is indeed very attractive.
