Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds Q713216J with pink gold case and Milanese link bracelet. Price: €45,200
Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced a new variation of the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds, reference Q713216J, featuring an 18-carat pink gold case paired with a newly developed Milanese link bracelet, also crafted from 18-carat pink gold. A grained dial in a matching tone completes the refined design.
The Milanese link bracelet is composed of a dense, flat weave formed from two interlaced metal threads, creating a double-layered structure of small, interlocking links.
To construct each bracelet, approximately 16 metres of gold thread are required. These threads are assembled into a flexible mesh known as pezza, with the entire process carried out in a single continuous operation to preserve the bracelet’s suppleness.
The finishing stages involve precisely stamping the links and hand-soldering each side individually. The resulting structure is smooth, pliable, and pin-free, offering both comfort and long-term durability.
The origins of the Milanese link date back to 13th-century Milan, where it was originally used in chain mail. During the Renaissance, Italian goldsmiths began adapting the technique for use in precious metal jewellery. For several centuries it remained largely confined to Italy, until the 1920s, when German jewellers revived the method and introduced it to a broader international audience.
Though its popularity has fluctuated over time, the Milanese link experienced a resurgence in the 1970s with the rise of metal watch bracelets, and it remains appreciated today for its versatility.
On this latest Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds, the Milanese link bracelet brings a subtle vintage character to the clean dial design and uniform pink gold tones.
The bracelet’s slim profile aligns with the sleek 7.56 mm-thick case (measuring 45.6 × 27.4 mm), while a slightly revised lug attachment gives the impression of a fully integrated design.
The polished 18-carat pink gold folding clasp continues the shiny aesthetic of the bracelet, ensuring visual consistency across all elements.
When reversed, the solid metal caseback enhances the Reverso’s dual character. It may be left plain or customised with an engraving or lacquered decoration, reinforcing its appeal as a timepiece with personal significance.
This new Reverso features a golden-toned dial with a refined textured surface, achieved through a series of stamping processes. The finely grained finish contrasts with the polished surfaces of the case and bracelet, lending visual balance to the composition.
The dial design retains the hallmark aesthetic of the Reverso Tribute line, evoking the understated elegance of the 1931 original. Hour markers are represented by applied indices rather than numerals; their elongated, faceted shapes add depth and subtly mirror the form of the Dauphine-style hands.
At 6 o’clock, the small seconds sub-dial, set within a circular track, provides a soft visual contrast to the otherwise linear structure of the dial and case.
The watch is powered by the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 822/2, a rectangular movement operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of 42 hours.
Water-resistant to 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet), the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds with Milanese link bracelet in pink gold (ref. Q713216J) is priced at €45,200 / US$41,300. jaeger-lecoultre.com
