Patek Philippe adds Reference 5330G-001 World Time to its regular collection

At the Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 exhibition, among other novelties in the area of travel watches, Patek Philippe unveiled the Reference 5330G-001 World Time.

Launched as a limited edition at the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023, Reference 5330 is now entering the manufacture’s regular collection. 

This new-generation World Time features a patented world first: a date display indexed to local time, i.e. that of the time zone selected at 12 o'clock and indicated by the central hands.

To make the user experience as practical and comfortable as possible, Patek Philippe devised a mechanism to synchronize the date display with the local time, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. 

The date adjusts automatically in the two situations entailing a change: past midnight, when the date advances to that of the following day; and when crossing the International Date Line (in the middle of the Pacific Ocean) from west to east, where the date goes back by a day.

The new self-winding Caliber 240 HU C features a differential system indicating the date on the periphery of the dial by means of a center hand in transparent glass with a red hammer-head-style tip. 

The 24-hour disk is subdivided into day and night zones, identified respectively by a small gilt sun on a silvered background symbolizing noon and a gilt crescent moon on a blue-gray ground symbolizing midnight. On the city disk, a red dot between Auckland and Midway marks the International Date Line.

The blue-gray opaline dial is also characterised by its center adorned with a “carbon” pattern, a decoration that we have already seen in several other models such as the Ref. 5935A-001 World Time flyback chronograph.

The white gold hands and applied faceted baton-style hour markers are enhanced by white luminescent coating for improved legibility in darker environments.

The new World Time Reference 5330G-001 comes in a 40 mm x 11.57 mm case crafted from fully polished white gold, with curved two-tier fluted lugs. It is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres / 330 feet. 


The sapphire crystal case back displays the movement, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), with a power reserve of 38 to 48 hours, provided by the 22K gold off-center guilloched mini-rotor.

Paired with a blue-gray calfskin strap with denim pattern and a white gold fold-over clasp, the new Patek Philippe Ref. 5330G-001 World Time is priced at Euro 76,000 / US$ 76,590. On the occasion, the manufacture also announced an extension of the international warranty pertaining to new watches from two years to five years. patek.com
