With the new Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Silver, Zenith revisits the distinctive Pilot aesthetic with elements that are directly inspired to vintage aircraft design.
The 45 mm case of this aviation-themed chronograph is crafted in precious sterling silver – a first for a Zenith Pilot chronograph.
Like the fuselage of an aircraft, the two-counter dial is characterised by riveted details resembling metal panels, with an erratic satin-brushed surface that highlights the intrinsic beauty of the metal.
The “cathedral” hands and the oversized Arabic numerals are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability in poor light conditions.
The movement of choice is the self-winding El Primero 4069 with column-wheel. Fast beating at a frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 vph), it offers an autonomy of 50 hours. The solid case-back, also crafted form silver 925, is engraved with Zenith flying instruments logo.
The look is completed by a brown calfskin leather strap with rivets. A polished steel pin buckle secures the watch to the wrist.
Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, the Zenith Pilot Type 20 Silver Chronograph ref. 05.2430.4069/17.I011 is a limited edition of 250 pieces with a retail price of CHF 9,900. zenith-watches.com
