As a partner of the Foundation dedicated to the famous French pilot and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry since 2008, IWC created a special design code for the “Le Petit Prince” special editions of its Pilot’s watches.
In 2021, the series is expanding with the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Edition “Le Petit Prince” ref. IW395503.
Limited to 1500 pieces, this model comes in a 46 mm x 15.2 mm stainless steel case with a midnight-blue dial that is framed by a city ring made of blue ceramic.
The patented timezoner function allows the wearer to adjust the time zone by simply pressing down the bezel, rotating it to the desired location and releasing it.
The city names make it easy to navigate. It is interesting to mention that the patented Timezoner mechanism works without stopping the movement, even when crossing the dateline.
The legibility of the dial is enhanced by large numerals and hands coated with white Super-LumiNova. The glass is secured against sudden drops in air pressure.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the new 82760 IWC-manufactured calibre is equipped with a Pellaton winding mechanism with components made from wear-resistant ceramic that builds up a power reserve of 60 hours. The transparent glass back allows an unimpeded view of the decorated movement.
Water resistant to 60 metres / 200 feet and matched to a brown calfskin strap, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Edition “Le Petit Prince” ref. IW395503 has a price of Euro 15,400. iwc.com
