Piaget Limelight Gala: two new jewellery watch interpretations for 2026

In 2026, Piaget expands the Limelight Gala with two jewellery watches featuring Grand Feu enamel (G0A51188) and Decor Palace (G0A51187) craftsmanship.

For spring 2026, Piaget expands its Limelight Gala collection with two new jewellery watch interpretations highlighting the Maison’s expertise in decorative gold work and gem setting. 

First presented in 1973, the Limelight Gala was designed by Jean-Claude Gueit and quickly became one of the Maison’s most recognisable jewellery watches. 

The new model stood out for its distinctive architecture. Its oval case was framed by asymmetrical diamond-set lugs that extended beyond the case and flowed along the bracelet, creating a sense of movement and contrast between geometry and fluid lines. 

These decorative lugs concealed their structural function while becoming a defining stylistic element of the watch.

From its inception, the Limelight Gala was conceived as a jewellery watch suited to evening occasions, positioned between Piaget’s dramatic cuff watches and more understated dress pieces. 

Over the decades, the model has evolved through numerous interpretations incorporating coloured stones, decorative techniques and artisanal craftsmanship. Recent versions have highlighted Piaget’s mastery of métiers d’art, including stone marquetry and enamel work.

One of the new 2026 interpretations highlights Decor Palace engraving, one of Piaget’s most recognisable decorative signatures. First developed in 1961, this technique became widely associated with the Maison’s jewellery watches of the late 1960s.

Inspired by guilloché but executed entirely by hand, Decor Palace is created by engraving fine lines into the gold using a burin. Each groove is incised individually, with the goldsmith removing the shavings after every movement of the tool. 

Because the process is performed free-hand, each engraved surface has a slightly different character.

In this Limelight Gala version, ref. G0A51187, the Decor Palace engraving is applied to both the bracelet and the dial in rose gold, creating a textured surface that interacts with the light. 

The composition is complemented by a gradual arrangement of diamonds in white and cognac tones, producing a subtle colour gradient that enhances the warmth of the gold.

The second model, ref. G0A51188, offers a more vibrant interpretation of the Limelight Gala, featuring a vivid orange dial created using Grand Feu enamel applied over a gold surface engraved to replicate the texture of snake skin.

The circular case is surrounded by diamonds that extend into the flowing lugs, while the bracelet continues the engraved pattern to create a cohesive visual effect. 

The engraving technique, introduced by Piaget in 2019 on the Extremely Lady collection, produces a trompe-l’œil texture that evokes the undulating surface of reptile scales.

This version is further distinguished by the presence of spessartite garnets in warm sunset tones, complementing the enamel dial and reinforcing the rich colour palette of the watch.

With these two new models, Piaget continues to explore the combination of jewellery craftsmanship and watchmaking that has defined the Limelight Gala since its introduction more than fifty years ago. 

Through techniques such as engraving, enamel work and gemstone setting, the collection remains a platform for the Maison’s decorative artistry while maintaining the distinctive design language established in the 1970s. piaget.com
