Credor Goldfeather with Imari Nabeshima porcelain dial

Discover the Credor Goldfeather ref. GCBY991, a 60-piece limited edition featuring a Imari Nabeshima porcelain dial by Hataman Touen. Price: €15,000

Credor continues its exploration of Japanese artisanal excellence with a new interpretation of the Goldfeather, distinguished by a dial crafted in traditional Imari Nabeshima porcelain.

Produced in a limited edition of 60 pieces, reference GCBY991 brings together refined watchmaking and one of Japan’s most revered ceramic traditions.

Credor Goldfeather Imari Nabeshima Porcelain Dial Limited Edition GCBY991

Founded in 1974, Credor represents Seiko’s highest expression of craftsmanship and aesthetic refinement. Its name derives from the French crête d’or, or “crest of gold,” reflecting the brand’s pursuit of the highest standards.

The Goldfeather has a longer lineage: first introduced in 1960, it was revived in 2023 as a contemporary dress watch defined by lightness, slimness and understated elegance.

At the heart of this edition is a porcelain dial created in collaboration with Hataman Touen, a prestigious kiln specialising in Imari Nabeshima ware.

This tradition originated in Okawachiyama, near Imari, historically known as the “village of secret kilns.” During the Edo period (1603–1868), Imari Nabeshima porcelain was produced exclusively for the shogunate and feudal lords, using techniques closely guarded within the domain.

Hataman Touen continues this legacy today, preserving classical motifs while refining materials, techniques and finishing.

The dial displays the characteristic gradation of Imari Nabeshima porcelain, combining a translucent white base with deep cobalt-blue tones. A feather motif, referencing the Goldfeather name, appears in two forms: blue feathers beneath the hour indexes and transparent feathers between them.

These elements are applied in multiple layers, with the blue gradation and motifs painted before glazing, and the transparent feathers and indexes added over the glazed surface. In total, the dial undergoes five firings, creating subtle tonal variations and a refined sense of depth.

The manufacturing process presents additional challenges. The dial begins as a larger porcelain piece that is fired and then carefully ground down to a thickness of approximately one millimetre. Such precision is essential, as porcelain this thin would otherwise be prone to warping. Controlled execution ensures both structural stability and the gentle curvature that defines the Goldfeather’s aesthetic.

The stainless steel case measures 37.1 mm in diameter and just 8.3 mm in thickness, maintaining the discreet proportions of a classical dress watch.

A box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while the see-through case back reveals the manually wound Calibre 6890.

Part of Credor’s legendary 68 series of ultra-thin movements, the Calibre 6890 measures only 1.98 mm thick and can be assembled only by a select group of master watchmakers.

It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 37 hours.

The case back also bears the Hataman Touen logo alongside the “Limited Edition” engraving, discreetly acknowledging the collaborative nature of the piece.

The watch is paired with a crocodile leather strap and a stainless steel three-fold clasp. Water resistance is rated at 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet), with magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m.

Available from February 2026, the Credor Goldfeather Imari Nabeshima Porcelain Dial Limited Edition (ref. GCBY991) is priced at €15,000 and produced in a strictly limited run of 60 pieces. credor.com
