Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days ref. 104121 marks a bold step forward in ultra-thin skeleton watches, now dressed in a striking black DLC titanium case. 

Building on the earlier versions in rose gold and natural titanium, this new edition emphasises contrast and depth, lending the architectural design an even more assertive character.

After spending a few days with this remarkable piece, we are pleased to share our impressions and live photographs.

Reference 104121 features a black DLC-coated titanium case, distinguished by its sculptural, edgy profile defined by 58 facets. 

The design plays on the contrast between the bold octagonal geometry of the case and the round bezel. It measures 40 mm in diameter and just 5.95 mm in height.

A sandblasted finish lends the surface a smooth, uniform appearance that is both refined and tactile. The 18-carat rose gold crown is set with a black ceramic insert, adding a subtle touch of contrast and elegance.

Rose gold plating is applied to the hands and hour markers, offering a striking visual contrast against the openworked architecture of the BVL 199SK manufacture calibre. 

This hand-wound movement, just 2.50 mm thick, features black PVD-coated skeletonised bridges with a matte anthracite finish. The overall effect is technical, balanced, and unmistakably contemporary.

The layout is completed by a large “12” numeral and a small seconds subdial, asymmetrically positioned between 7 and 8 o’clock. Readability is surprisingly good in most lighting conditions.

Operating at 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), the ultra-thin calibre delivers an impressive 192-hour power reserve. 

This eight-day autonomy is indicated via a gauge-style display with rose gold graduations that follow the curvature of the small seconds subdial. 

The inscription “Eight Days” beneath the Bvlgari logo at 3 o’clock underscores this standout feature.

Just above it, the mainspring barrel can be seen winding and unwinding, even while wearing the watch on your wrist.

A sapphire crystal caseback reveals the distinctive architecture of the movement, including a balance bridge with twin supports to enhance shock resistance. 

Water resistance is rated at 3 bar, or approximately 30 metres / 100 feet, making it safe for occasional splashes although not suited for swimming.

Completing the watch is a flexible black rubber strap that reinforces its contemporary and sporty character, secured by a black DLC-coated titanium pin buckle. 

The Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days wears comfortably and makes a strong visual statement on the wrist. We appreciated its lightness without any sense of fragility. For reference, the wrist in our pictures measures 17.8 cm / 7 in.

The Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days in black DLC titanium is a compelling expression of Bulgari’s ability to marry avant-garde style with technical excellence.
