British watch brand Fears has launched the new Arnos collection, named after Arnos Vale, the area in Bristol where the Fears headquarters are located today.

The inaugural model of this new line is the Arnos Pewter Blue, a rectangular self-winding watch whose case design draws inspiration from rectangular models in the Fears Archive dating from the 1920s and 1930s.

Measuring 22.6 mm x 40 mm (lug-to-lug) with a thickness of 8.4 mm, the Arnos case is machined from 316L stainless steel in Switzerland.

The subtly onion-shaped yet contemporary winding crown is signed with the Fears Cypher.

The elegant lines of the case are accentuated by alternating linearly brushed and highly polished surfaces. The gently curved profile of the crystal, case, and caseback ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist.

The Arnos Pewter Blue dial features a striking combination of a blue circle within a grey rectangle. Constructed from a separate section, the inner circle is machine-turned with a concentric pattern before being coated in galvanic blue.

Contemporary-styled Roman numerals, printed in white, and solid diamond-cut “Fears pipette” hands coated in rhodium plating ensure excellent legibility. Surrounding the inner section, the “outer dial” displays a distinct hobnail pattern cut by CNC machine and then rhodium-coated.

The watch is powered by the self-winding Sellita SW1000 calibre, customised for Fears to display only hours and minutes. Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this movement offers a 46-hour power reserve. While not visible, it features a rotor decorated with the Flower of Bristol motif.

Water-resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the Arnos Pewter Blue is supplied with two straps: one in taupe Barenia calf leather and the other in blue FKM rubber for a sportier look. Each watch carries a unique serial number engraved between the 20 mm lugs at 12 o’clock.
