Armin Strom presents the Tribute 1 Sandstein (“sandstone” in German), the latest interpretation of its contemporary dress watch.

The warm, sand-toned dial takes inspiration from the sandstone rocks surrounding Armin Strom’s hometown of Burgdorf in the canton of Bern, Switzerland.

Housed in a slender 38 mm × 9.38 mm stainless steel case with alternating brushed and polished surfaces, the off-centre dial is decorated with a refined grain d’orge guilloché pattern, Roman numerals, and a frosted subdial.

A prominent feature is the hand-polished barrel, inscribed with the text “MANUAL WINDING – ONE HUNDRED HOURS OF POWER RESERVE” and secured by a sculpted, hand-bevelled bridge that provides a warm contrast to the steel case.

The innovative barrel construction of the Tribute 1 features an arbor that rotates around the mainspring within the barrel itself, optimising efficiency while conserving space. This design allows the watch to deliver an impressive power reserve of more than four days, exceptional for a timepiece of this size and profile.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the hand-wound Calibre AMW21 showcases exquisite haute horlogerie finishes. These include hand-bevelled bridges with polished and matte surfaces, Geneva stripes, circular graining, and black-polished screws. 

Beating at a frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), the movement is fitted with a flat hairspring and a variable inertia balance wheel, ensuring chronometric stability while offering a full 100 hours of autonomy.

Completing the timepiece is a sandstone-coloured Alcantara strap with off-white stitching, secured by a stainless steel folding clasp. Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM (50 metres / 165 feet).

Like all Armin Strom creations, each Tribute 1 Sandstein is assembled twice, reflecting the brand’s uncompromising commitment to precision and craftsmanship.
