Glashütte Original - Seventies Chronograph "Fab Green"

Glashütte Original launched the neSeventies Chronograph Fab Green, characterised by a green dial with degradé effect. Prices starting from €14,300
Glashütte Original enriched its Seventies collection with the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date "Fab Green", a new interpretation of its vintage-inspired chronograph with a modern twist given by a shimmering green dial with degradé effect.

Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph "Fab Green"

The new model comes in a stainless steel 40 mm x 40 mm square case with a thickness of 14.1 mm. The sporty lines are well highlighted by its meticulous finish alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces.

On the right, the screwed crown is protected by two guards that harmonise with the two chronograph push buttons while on the upper left side of the case we find the Panorama Date corrector.

The chronograph start and stop functions are activated by the pusher at 2 o'clock, the flyback mechanism by the pusher at 4 o'clock. Pressing the flyback pusher halts the on-going chronographic time measurement and the chronograph hour, minute and second hands jump back to zero starting a new measurement as soon as the flyback pusher is released.

Protected by a flat sapphire crystal, the dial is a real eye-catcher with its degradé effect making the lighter hues at the centre shade gradually turn into darker nuances at the circumference.

It is worth to mention that the German watchmaker produces its dials in its dedicated manufactory in Pforzheim, a city with rich traditions in jewellery around 600 km east of the headquarter. Glashütte Original is one of the very few watchmakers that still create their dials in-house without relying on external suppliers.

Black indices and hands make their mark for the very first time within the Seventies line enhancing the sportiness of this model. The hour and minute hands, just like the hour markers, are filled with Super-LumiNova for improved readability in darker environments.

All the indications are efficiently arranged: central stop seconds, 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock, small seconds and power reserve display at 9 o'clock, 12-hour chronograph aperture at 12 o'clock and, of course, the signature Panorama Date at 6 o'clock.

Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the automatic chronograph movement with column wheel and flyback mechanism, Calibre 37-02, is manufactured in-house to the highest quality standards. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a power reserve of 70 hours. The skeletonised rotor with 21-ct-gold oscillation weight and double-G logo is particularly efficient requiring just few movements to wind the watch.

Water resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet), the Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date "Fab Green" can be matched to a choice of straps - brown-grey nubuck leather (ref. 1-37-02-09-02-62) or black rubber (ref. 1-37-02-09-02-63) - or to a stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp (ref. 1-37-02-09-02-70) with prices of Euro 14,300 and Euro 15,500, respectively. glashuette-original.com
