The dial of the new Mido Commander Big Date is beautifully refined, with a deep blue colour enhanced by a sunray satin finish that makes the rose-gold-coloured PVD-coated hands and hour markers stand out very clearly. These are treated with white Super-LumiNova for optimal readability even in poor light conditions.
Framed by a thin bezel and protected by a faceted and domed sapphire crystal, the dial is completed by a large aperture at 6 o'clock that displays the date with big numerals.
Water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 metres/165 feet), the 42 mm x 11.97 mm case is made of stainless steel with a rose-gold-coloured PVD treatment. The bezel is polished while the caseband sides and the horns are satin-finished.
The Commander Big Date is powered by the self-winding Caliber 80 which beats at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and guarantees up to 80 hours of power reserve. The movement and its rotor decorated with Geneva stripes are visible through the transparent caseback.
Matched to a semi-matt brown crocodile-look cow leather strap with a rose-gold-coloured PVD-treated folding clasp, the Mido Commander Big Date ref. M021.626.36.041.00 has a price of Euro 1,040 (including VAT ) / US$ 990 (excluding sales taxes). midowatches.com
