Longines expands its Heritage line with the new Silver Arrow, a three-hand timepiece characterised by a minimalist yet not ordinary design.
Its 38.50 mm x 9.90 mm stainless steel case frames a silver opaline dial with distinctive striated indexes, also featured in the original Silver Arrow watch from 1956 that inspired this tribute model. Super-LumiNova is used to enhance the visibility of the sword-shaped hands and the hour markers. The absence of a date aperture contributes to keep the design as clean as possible.
The sapphire glass with a multi-layered anti-reflective finish is box-shaped to emphasise the vintage look of the timepiece.
Just like the original, the screwed solid caseback of the Silver Arrow is engraved with an amblem: the representation of a supersonic plane flying through the stars. Hidden behind it, the automatic movement Calibre L888.5 (based on the ETA A31.L11) beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour and guarantees a power reserve of 64 hours. It is equipped with a silicon balance spring for increased accuracy and resistance to magnetic fields.
Water resistant to 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet), the watch is equipped with a matte brown leather strap with a soft texture and vintage finishes.
Coming with a five-year warranty, the Longines Silver Arrow ref. L2.822.214.171.124 has an indicative price of Euro 1,950 / US$ 2,100. longines.com
