The latest Grand Seiko creation, the reference SLGH005 part of the Heritage collection, is characterised by a dial texture inspired by the white birch trees typical of the northern parts of Japan.
The style of the watch follows the so-called Series 9 design code with powerful hands, prominent markers and Zaratsu polished surfaces (a distortion-free mirror finish) that alternate to satin-brushed ones.
Featuring wide lugs and a box shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the 40 mm x 11.7 mm case is crafted from stainless steel and offers water resistance to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).
The case back showcases the 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) Caliber 9SA5 offering a power reserve of 80 hours thanks to its enhanced energy efficiency. This innovative self-winding movement integrates three significant developments - the new Dual Impulse Escapement, the Grand Seiko free-sprung balance, and the horizontal gear train - that contribute to its excellent accuracy: +5 to -3 seconds per day (mean daily rate).
Matched to a steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp with push button release, the Grand Seiko Heritage SLGH005 retails at Euro 9,500 (including VAT) / US$ 9,100 (excluding sales taxes). grand-seiko.com
