Based in Geneva, FVF (Franc Vila Founder) is the brand created by Spanish watchmaker Franc Vila to pursue his personal vision of emotional horology where each piece is created with an artisanal approach.
His latest creation is the Tourbillon Superligero Skeleton Unibody, a name that expresses very clearly the key characteristics of this exclusive model, designed by Franc Vila and manufactured in collaboration with other talented independent watchmakers who share the same horology vision.
Middle case and skeletonised baseplate are crafted from grade 5 titanium with sapphire glass boxes to protect both sides of the movement. The watch has a diameter of 42.5 mm and a total thickness of 13.9 mm.
The movement was designed with a rational approach aimed to avoid unnecessary complexity and obtain an ultra light yet strong and shock-resistant structure.
The one-minute tourbillon at 6 o'clock is visually balanced by the heptagonal display at 12 o'clock that shows the day of the week. Just below it, we find a three-dimensional day/night indicator.
Beating at the frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), the sophisticated hand-wound movement offers a remarkable power reserve of 100 hours.
All finishes and decorations are made by hand with highly polished inward angles, wheels and pinions. Screws are also polished by hand.
The total weight of the watch, including the crocodile leather strap with titanium pin buckle, is 54.8 grams.
Only 8 pieces of the FVF Tourbillon Superligero Skeleton Unibody will be created with a production of 4 pieces per year and a unit price of CHF 125,000. francvilafounder.com
