Mido presented a new chronograph version of the Ocean Star, the first in this marine-inspired collection.
The new Ocean Star Chronograph Special Edition ref. M026.627.37.051.00 comes in a robust black DLC-treated stainless steel case measuring 44 mm in diameter.
Equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel in black ceramic, the case alternates polished and satin-finished surfaces. Thanks to screwed crown and pushers, the watch is water-resistant up to a pressure of 20 bar (200 metres / 660 feet).
A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides protects the velvety black dial featuring diamond-cut hands adorned with yellow Super-LumiNova. The chronograph seconds hand stands out with its orange varnished tip.
The white tachymeter scale on the flange, expressed in nautical miles, makes it possible to calculate the speed of racing boats.
A 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, and a white date numeral in a black aperture at 6 o’clock complete the display.
The screwed case back reveals a polished starfish in relief. Inside, the automatic Mido Caliber 60 (ETA A05.H31 base) beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and guarantees up to 60 hours of power reserve.
Delivered with two sporty interchangeable straps, the first in black rubber, the second in a black technical fabric with orange stitching, the new Mido Ocean Star Chronograph Special Edition has a price of Euro 2,290. A titanium version with a blue dial and a matching ceramic bezel is also available (ref. M026.627.44.041.00). midowatches.com
