Baume & Mercier reveals the new Riviera Maréographe 10761

As a preview of the new Riviera models that will be unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024, Baume & Mercier is presenting the Riviera Maréographe, a timepiece with a distinct nautical touch.

Available in a limited edition of just 500, the Riviera Maréographe comes in a satin-polished stainless steel dodecagonal case, measuring 42 mm in diameter and 12.3 mm in thickness.

The polished and sun-satin stainless steel bezel is fastened with four polished steel screws made of sandblasted ADLC-coated steel.

The octagonal crown is screwed in and decorated with the brand’s emblem, the Phi logo, which is embossed and delineated in black. The push-button at 4 o’clock makes it possible to adjust the tide disk.

Topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-glare coating on both sides, the sun-satin blue dial is dotted with Roman numerals at 12 o’clock and rhodium-plated riveted indexes at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. They are coated with white Super-LumiNova, offering a blue glow, just like the tips of the rhodium-plated hands. The hands indicating hours and minutes are large and openworked, while the slim seconds hand features a Phi logo as a counterweight. The white transfers are also coated with white Super-LumiNova.

The blue disk indicating high and low tides is sandblasted and snailed. This 24-hour indicator is divided into four sections, enabling the direct reading of various tide states. Depending on your location on the globe, the two high tides on the same day can significantly differ from each other. To address this, the disc features a round symbol to highlight which of the two will be the highest.

The ensemble is completed with a minute track on the outer flange for precise time reading.

The dodecagonal case back is fastened with four screws and can be customized with your choice of engraving. It also bears a special engraving, “Special Edition One Out of 500.” Through the transparent sapphire crystal, it displays the self-winding Baumatic manufacture movement operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a 5-day power reserve (120 hours).

The meticulous finishes include circular-grained bridges, a sand-blasted and snailed baseplate, and an openworked oscillating weight adorned with “Côtes de Genève" decorations.

The watch is paired with an integrated blue rubber strap with a canvas pattern. It is interchangeable without the need for tools thanks to a robust, reliable mechanism. The triple folding buckle is equipped with security push-pieces and an easy adjustment feature. Water-resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 ATM (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet).
