Winner of the Artistic Crafts prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2023, the Piaget Altiplano Métiers d’Art Undulata is one of the exclusive creations unveiled last June in Florence, Italy, as part of the Metaphoria collection, 52 exceptional pieces in gold and precious stones - 41 jewels and 11 watches - crafted from start to finish in the Maison’s ateliers.

Mixing green, blue and iridescent hues, the French artist Rose Saneuil created a miniature marquetry of volume, textures, and colours. 

The dial of the Undulata includes a dozen layers of straw, parchment sycamore, leather and elytron, patiently assembled by hand to create a mesmerizing around the off-center hours-minutes counter and the ultra-thin flying tourbillon carriage. More than 44 hours were required to create each dial.

The tourbillon is surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds, while the dial is framed by a bezel entirely set with baguette-cut diamonds. Other brilliant-cut diamonds adorn the lugs.

The precious 41 mm x 7.39 mm white gold case houses the manufacture calibre 670P, a hand-wound movement operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 variations per hour) with a power reserve of 55 hours.
