In 2019 Bulgari released the Gerald Genta 50th Anniversary Watch to celebrate 50 years since the establishment of Gerald Genta's own brand that the Italian luxury giant acquired in 2000. A second timepiece, a sportier one, followed in 2020 with the Gerald Genta Arena Bi-Retro Sport.

This year, Bulgari brings back a playful watchmaking classic with the new Gerald Genta Arena Retrograde with smiling Disney Mickey Mouse.

Featuring Disney’s most iconic mouse, this design became a signature offering of the Gerald Genta brand and it is still very sought after by collectors and watch enthusiasts.

Introduced by Gerald Genta in the 1980s after obtaining a license from Disney to design various models decorated with the worldwide renowned Disney characters, this model was the first retrograde watch on the market. The architectural shape of the Arena case was inspired by the structure of the ancient “arenas”, hence its name.

Faithful to the concept of the original timepiece, the new model displays Mickey Mouse on a rhodium-plated sunray dial with its left arm indicating the minutes on a 210-degree retrograde sector. The jumping hour appears in the round aperture at 5 o'clock.

Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, the 41 mm case in polished stainless steel houses a mono-retrograde automatic movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 42 hours.

The watch is completed by a red textured padded rubber strap secured to the wrist by a folding clasp in polished stainless steel.
