Norqain is adding two new variations: the Freedom 60 GMT Opaline and the Freedom 60 GM Forest Green.
After the successful launch of the Freedom 60 GMT at the end of last year (you can read about it here), Norqain is now adding two new variations: the Freedom 60 GMT Opaline and the Freedom 60 GM Forest Green.
Both models come in a 40 mm case alternating satin-polished surfaces to polished details with a slim bezel to frame the dial protected by a domed scratch-resistant sapphire glass that emphasises the vintage look of the watch.
The Freedom 60 GMT Opaline is crafted from stainless steel case and features a luminous white opaline dial.
The innovative jumping hour GMT function stands out with its colourful central ring, half in bordeaux red from 6:00 (6 a.m.) to 18:00 (6 p.m.) and half in midnight blue from 18:00 (6 p.m.) to 6:00 (6 a.m.).
Thanks to the combined use of the GMT scale and the central red-tipped GMT, the wearer can instantly adjust the local date and hour to the time in a new time-zone without stopping the watch.
The hand-applied indexes and hour markers are coated in luminous “Old Radium” Super-LumiNova, in line with the style of this model.
The watch can be matched to a stainless steel bracelet at the price of CHF 3,790 or to a wide range of straps, including a Norlando leather strap (CHF 3,550.00), a croco-style rubber strap (CHF 3,690.00) or a Perlon rubber strap (CHF 3,690.00). The Perlon strap is produced in Switzerland by BIWI, an industry leader that has established an international reputation for its innovative, vegan-certified products
The Freedom 60 GMT Forest Green Limited Edition is characterised by a bronze case and a striking forest green dial.
The central ring of the GMT scale has a white half from 6:00 (6 am) to 18:00 (6 pm) to mark the daytime hours and a black half from 18:00 (6 pm) to 6:00 (6 am) to track the time at night. The central GMT hand stands out for its red tip.
The hand-applied indexes and faceted hands, which are coated with “Old Radium” Super-LumiNova, are also made in bronze.
Offering excellent resistance to corrosion and wear, the bronze silicon-aluminium alloy of the case has a slightly yellowish tinge that will become darker over time. The solid caseback is made of steel treated with bronze PVD.
Released in an edition limited to 300 pieces, the Freedom 60 GMT Forest Green is presented on a Perlon rubber strap at the price of CHF 3,950 but it is also available with a croco-style rubber strap (CHF 3,950) or a Norlando leather strap (CHF 3,790).
The movement of choice is the brand's proprietary Calibre NN20/2, a self-winding mechanical movement that beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a a 70-hour, weekend-proof power reserve.
The COSC (“Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres”) certification guarantees the chronometric performance and compliance with requirements in terms of precision, reliability, shock resistance, automatic winding and ease of maintenance.
Visible through the transparent caseback, the bridge of the movement is engraved with Norqain's core values, “Adventure – Freedom – Independence”, and the oscillating weight is decorated with the golden “double-N” logo, which symbolises the Swiss Alps. norqain.com
