Christopher Ward presented today its first true dive watch integrating a GMT functionality, the C60 Elite GMT 1000.
In fact, the countdown bezel on the outside of the dial enables the C60 Elite GMT 1000 to be classed as a true technical dive watch – rather than a sports watch like previous GMT models of the brand.
The second time zone can be easily read thanks to the combined use of the fourth GMT hand and the flat 24-hour ring around the outside of the shiny lacquer dial. This way, the wearer can see at a glance the local time and the reference time at home. The indications are completed by a useful date aperture at 3 o'clock.
Featuring a 42 mm satin-brushed and polished case crafted from lightweight and corrosion-resistant Grade 2 titanium, the new model is water resistant to 1,000 metres and incorporates an automatic helium release valve to assist with equalisation during ascent from a dive.
On the caseback, a 3.4 mm-thick sapphire crystal showcases the Sellita SW330 movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 42 hours. This automatic movement is certified by COSC as a chronometer.
Two different colour options are available – orange and blue (with orange GMT hand) or red and black (with red GMT hand) with a brushed ceramic bezel to gives a more tool-like aesthetic. Both use Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova for indexes, hands and bezel markings.
The watch can be matched to either a lightweight titanium bracelet or a hybrid rubber/Cordura strap in a choice of black or navy, either with or without a bright underside in red or orange respectively. Both the bracelet and the strap are fitted with a quick-release system.
