The Clifton Baumatic collection by Baume et Mercier includes an amazing chronometer-certified model with a blue-to-black dial that we recently tested for several days.
We can immediately say that the Clifton Baumatic with blue dial reference 10467 really impressed us. The Baume et Mercier Clifton Baumatic Blue Dial with COSC certification has a price of Euro 2,800 with alligator leather strap (ref. 10467) or Euro 2,950 with steel bracelet (ref. 10468). This wristwatch combines a highly attractive design to excellent performances and a truly competitive price point. Highly recommended.
We can immediately say that the Baume et Mercier Clifton Baumatic Blue Dial reference 10467 really impressed us. If you are considering to buy a classy and versatile three-hand watch that can be worn in almost any daily situation, with the possibility to match it to either a leather strap or a metal bracelet, we believe that this timepiece offers one of the very best price/quality ratio on the market.
Case and bezel are polished with part of the flanks satin-brushed, a detail that emphasises the refined lines, beautifully connecting at the end of the curved lugs.
The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is slightly domed to better harmonise with the bezel. Its anti-glare treatment improves the legibility of the attractive blue-to-black gradated sunburst dial featuring a white minute track and rhodium-plated faceted hands and applied indices. An oversized date aperture at 3 o’clock - we love the font - completes the dial indications.
The white crosshair appearing on the dial adds a stylish touch to the ensemble while remarking that this model is powered by a movement certified as a chronometer (daily rate of −4/+6 sec) by the COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.
With this calibre, Baume et Mercier was able to create a movement that features authentic advances in terms of magnetic fields, autonomy, chronometric precision, and durability while remaining affordable.
Its silicon balance-spring is antimagnetic, three times lighter than the ordinary alloys used for hairspring, resistant to corrosion and less sensitive to small impacts and repeated vibrations.
Moreover, the high-performance escapement was designed with an unusual geometry to reduce losses relating to friction and improving the torque transmission between the components, thus ensuring a 30% higher autonomy.
The entire movement and its oscillating weight are aesthetically enhanced by "Côtes de Genève" and snailed decors.
Fastening to the wrist with a triple folding buckle with security push-pieces, the black alligator strap is easy to change without the need for a tool. A five-row bracelet in polished/satin-finished steel with a triple folding buckle, is also available.
