Excellence can be achieved and preserved only through continuous improvement and innovation. With this attitude, Omega has created the fifth generation of its Constellation Gents’ collection, first launched in 1952.
The range comprises 26 new models, all sized at 39 mm but in various configurations of colours and materials including 18K yellow gold, 18K Sedna gold and stainless steel.
The updates include:
- Polished and bevelled edges along the case, claws and bracelet.
- Slimmer bezels with redesigned Roman numerals.
- The four claws around the case are now slimmer.
- A conical crown.
- Redesigned hands and hour-markers, which have taken inspiration from the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower in New York.
- Metal bracelets with new mid-bar links and a comfort-release function, or leather straps in various colours.
Finally, all of the 39 mm models in the Constellation Gents’ collection have been upgraded to Master Chronometer status – Omega's highest certification for precision, performance and magnetic resistance. To achieve this status, not only the movement but also the finished watch has to pass the 8 rigorous tests set by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
Visible through the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 55 hours.
Thanks to its free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring, it is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.
