Zenith - A384 Revival "Lupin The Third" Edition

For the first time in its history, Zenith created a timepiece based on a Japanese manga animated series.

The new A384 Revival "Lupin The Third" Edition comes in the year of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the El Primero calibre and reprises the colours of the watch shown on the wrist of one of the main characters in the story, Mr. Daisuke Jigen, the charming partner of the main protagonist Lupin.

Jigen is depicted wearing the Zenith watch on two occasions in the first episode of the first TV series. The watch is clearly inspired by the A384 but used a colour scheme that did not exist until now.

Following the release of the A384 Revival, a faithful reissue of the original A384 from 1969 presented by Zenith last July, the new A384 Revival "Lupin The Third" Edition is a special edition limited to 50 pieces exclusively available in Japan.

Recreated through a reverse engineering process using the blue prints and production plans of the original watch, the 37 mm stainless steel case of the A384 Revival frames a matte black dial featuring contrasting grey chronograph counters and tachymeter scale, with golden hands and applied markers completing the look. The hands and the applied markers are filled with creamy beige Super-LumiNova that enhance the aged look of the watch.

The transparent display back features a printed silhouette of Mr Jigen in his typical hat tipping while displaying the latest version of the El Primero 400 chronograph movement. The legendary column-wheel chronograph movement fast beats at a frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 50 hours.

Delivered in a special presentation box, the Zenith A384 Revival "Lupin The Third" Edition ref. 03.L384.400/27.C815 has an indicative price of Euro 7,000. zenith-watches.com
