Oris’s Big Crown Pointer Date first entered the Oris collection in 1938. It was designed for glove-wearing aviators, hence the oversized crown and clear Arabic-numeral dial. Over the years, this model has never been out of production and has become Oris’s signature piece.
Protected by a sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating on the inside, the solid bronze dial with luminescent indices, numbers and hands is chemically treated and coated with a transparent matt lacquer to create a unique finish for every piece.
Water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the 40 mm case houses the Oris 754 automatic movement (base Sellita SW200-1) beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) with a power reserve of 38 hours.
Matched to a brown chamois deer leather secured by a bronze buckle, the Oris Big Crown Bronze Pointer Date (ref. 01 754 7741 3166-07 5 20 74BR) has a retail price Swiss Francs 1,900 / Euro 1,800. oris.ch
