Developed in collaboration with Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez before he passed away last July, the new Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez by Hublot features an array of colours in constant motion, changing in potentially infinite combinations. The watch was unveiled on 5th December at the Espace Expression gallery in Miami, in the presence of the artist's family.
Strengthening the links between art and watchmaking, the horological colour composition changes and evolves with the passing of the hours, minutes and seconds, mirroring other works by the late artist, a Master of in the field of Kinetic and Optical art, an art form that places the spectator's perception at the centre of the piece.
The eye-catching dial is built on two levels treated in saturated Pantone colours, with the hour hand on the first level and the minute hand on the second, each driving the rotation of a transparent disc featuring printed black lines. This system causes the pattern of colours to evolve every second over a 24-hour period.
Together with the artist's metallic signature, the transparent case back displays the MHUB1100.H3 automatic movement beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of 42 hours.
The calfskin leather strap and the box match the dial so extending the optical experience.
Water resistant to 5 ATM (50 metres / 165 feet), the Hublot Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez is available with two case sizes (45 mm and 38 mm) in a choice of three materials: 100 and 25 titanium pieces, 30 and 20 King Gold pieces and 100 and 25 black ceramic pieces respectively.

I need to see it in reality to say if I like it or not, but the idea is certainly cool!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the black version among the three.
