Alpina enriched its Startimer Automatic collection with the Startimer Pilot Heritage watch, available in four colours and offering a GMT function. Prices.
Alpina enriched its Startimer Automatic collection with four new models designed to satisfy the main requirements of a pilot’s watch: reliability, precision and legibility.
The new Startimer Pilot Heritage watches are characterized by the original design of the 42 mm x 40.75 mm stainless steel case. Featuring an oversized screw-in crown which is particularly easy to grip, this cushion-shaped case offers water resistance to 10 ATM (100 metres / 330 feet). The case-back is engraved with the Alpina logo.
Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the dial displays the hours, minutes, seconds, GMT and a date while remaining clean and readable.
Instead of a more usual GMT hand, here we have an inner rotating disc to indicate the home time. Controlled by the crown at 2 o’clock, the internal 24-hour rotating bezel makes it possible to track a third timezone.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 38 hours, the self-winding Calibre AL-555 is an in-house-modified Sellita movement which allows the user to easily adjust the local time by hourly steps without affecting the home time indicated by the GMT rotating disc.
Four colour variations are available: copper, dark grey and light blue are matched to a brown leather strap while the navy blue model comes on black leather. All dials are enhanced by a the orange central seconds hand and include silver indexes with Super-LumiNova treatment.
The Alpina Startimer Pilot Heritage has a price of Swiss Francs 1,295 / Euro 1,295 / US$ 1,395. alpinawatches.com
