Too often we deal with the ever-increasing cost of luxury timepieces. But sometimes luxury can be reasonably priced.
With a target represented by younger customers, Baume et Mercier appropriately associates its revised Classima collection to the celebration of first academic or professional success.
Adopting more contemporary lines, the new Classima is available in a number of models and materials for both men and women.
The four new Classima Men’s models feature a new 40 mm case in steel or in steel and red-gold capped steel fitted with a 4Hz (28,800 vph) self-winding movement visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The thickness of just 8.95 mm contributes to the elegance of the watch.
The redesigned opaline silver-coloured dial is characterised by the line guilloché decor used for the centre and blued steel or gilt hands. The composition is completed by Roman numerals and a date aperture at 3 o'clock.
These watches are worn on metal bracelets seamlessly integrated with the case, or with an alligator strap secured by a triple folding buckle with security push pieces.
For women, the Classima range offers them new dedicated 36.5 mm-diameter (7.95 mm the thickness) mechanical self-winding or quartz models graced with a fine sunray guilloché decor. Some references also feature diamond-set dials.
While the automatic movement is displayed through the sapphire crystal case back, the quartz models have a solid case back that can be used for engravings.
Retail prices start at Euro 1,950 for the Classima Men and Euro 1,500 for the Classima Women. baume-et-mercier.com
