Tudor - Black Bay GMT with opaline dial

Tudor enriched its Black Bay GMT line with a new version that combines the burgundy and blue bezel that is typical of the model with an all-new opaline dial, a hue that isn’t quite white nor silver.

Through a galvanic process, a matte white-grey finish is applied to the slightly domed dial while the Super-LumiNova-filled hands and hour markers are darkened to create a noticeable contrast.

This model joins the black dial version launched in 2018.

Thanks to its GMT function, this watch allows the wearer to read the local time while also displaying the time in two other time zones.

The two additional time zones are indicated by a red “Snowflake” GMT hand, one of Tudor's hallmarks, which rotates around the dial in 24 hours, as well as a 24-hour bidirectional rotatable bezel featuring a matte aluminium insert in burgundy and deep blue.

The 316L stainless steel case with polished and satin-brushed surfaces is 41 mm in diameter and waterproof to 200 metres / 660 feet, also thanks to a screw-down crown.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 beats per hour) and offering a power reserve of 70 hours, the Calibre MT5652 with integrated GMT function is produced in the Kenissi Manufacture, the Tudor movement production facility founded in 2016. Its variable inertia balance wheel is maintained by a sturdy traversing bridge with a two-point anchoring. This system, together with its non-magnetic silicon hairspring, enables this automatic movement to function with a precision of -2/+4 seconds perday, as tested on a fully assembled watch and certified by COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres”).
