Baume et Mercier keeps expanding its Clifton Baumatic collection with new complications.
First introduced in 2018, the Baumatic represented a milestone for Baume et Mercier as their first mechanical self-winding Manufacture movement. Featuring authentic advances while remaining affordable, the movement was developed with four main technical goals: sensitivity to magnetic fields, autonomy, chronometric precision, and durability (you can read the article that we wrote on occasion of the launch here).
Presented as a preview of the novelties that will be unveiled at the ucpoming Watches & Wonders 2020 exhibition (Geneva, April 25-29), the new Clifton Baumatic Day-Date Moonphase offers the useful indications of date and day of the week together with the fascinating display of the moon phases, visible at 6 o'clock through a conveniently-shaped grey-tinted sapphire crystal.
An antiglare scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal protects a lacquered anthracite dial that darkens toward the outside offering a perfect contrast to the white minute track, the five golden hands and the trapezoidal applied indices.
The polished and satin-brushed 42 mm x 12.95 mm round case is crafted in pink gold and water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet.
Secured with 4 screws, the transparent case back reveals the self-winding Baumatic BM14 calibre and its oscillating weight , personalised with "Côtes de Genève" and snailed decors. Equipped with a silicon balance-spring and a high performance escapement, the innovative movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph) and guarantees a remarkable, and very comfortable, power reserve of 5 days (120 hours).
Fastening to the wrist with a pink gold pin buckle, the blue alligator strap is easy to change without the need for a tool.
The Baume et Mercier Clifton Baumatic Day-Date Moonphase Ref. M0A10547 will be available from October 2020 at a retail price of Euro 11,900. baume-et-mercier.com
