Zenith and Bamford Watch Department have cooperated for a special edition that will be available exclusively for Zenith boutiques: the Chronomaster El Primero Radar.
Limited to 50 pieces, this timepiece, especially in its red accents all over the dial, draws inspiration from Zenith’s archive pieces while displaying a contemporary and dynamic look at the the same time.
The new Radar reimagines the signature Zenith chronograph by introducing new design codes. Like the matte finish used for the 42 mm stainless steel case, crown and push-buttons included. Or the tri-compax dial with oversized counters characterized by a burnt brown hue that darkens towards the edge. Another distinctive detail is the radial design of the white tachymeter scale that can be found in several historical El Primero watches.
Each of the three chronograph subdials is different. The small seconds display at 9 o'clock features concentric circles, the chronograph hour counter at 6 o’clock features a more traditional Chronomaster design, while the minutes counter at 3 o’clock stands out for its bold red colour that glows in the dark thanks to its Super-LumiNova treatment.
The new model is powered by the self-winding El Primero Caliber 400 B, a column-wheel chronograph movement beating at a frequency of 5 Hz (36,600 vibrations per hour) and offering an autonomy of 50 hours.
Made of rubber with a cordura effect on top, the strap features double stitching with red threads nicely matching the accents of the dial. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet.
