Omega debuted its new Museum at “La Cité du Temps”, the Swatch Group campus in Biel/Bienne Switzerland.
Located in a light-filled building designed by award-winning architect Shigeru Ban, Omega's new Museum replaces the historical one that was located in front of the brand's headquarters. A new location was required to accommodate the remarkable collection of timepieces, movements, original documents, tools, photos, engravings, signs, awards and certificates.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the Omega Museum has set aside a special place to display the brand’s latest achievements.
Coinciding with the opening of the new Museum, Omega has upgraded the “Extract from the Archives” service, which is now available online.

The visit of the new Museum starts with a stroll across the continents. A large world map on the floor is embedded with digital readouts of exact times from numerous locations across the globe.
Omega’s “History of Time” is an immersive, 360° video that tracks humankind’s quest for precision, from the earliest clocks to the most modern movements.
A 9 metres running track is equipped with authentic Official Timekeeper technology, including the famous starting blocks and red electronic starting pistol.
The “Her Time” exhibition traces the evolution of OMEGA’s ladies’ watches from early Lépine pendants and the iconic Ladymatic, through to "secret jewellery watches" and today’s latest creations.
With a lunar surface underfoot and a Lunar Rover parked nearby, guests can explore Omega’s fascinating space story, through videos, photos, NASA technology and the many historically-significant versions of the “Moonwatch”.
Omega watches have served 007 on every dangerous mission since 1995’s “GoldenEye”. Watches and gadgets are here on display.

Guests can journey inside the movement of a watch. The giant walk-in Speedmaster screens an animated film revealing the inner-workings of the famous Co-Axial Escapement.
Omega’s long history unfolds in the most appropriate way - through a 50 metres steel bracelet, with 64 windows.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the Omega Museum has set aside a special place to display the brand’s latest achievements.
Coinciding with the opening of the new Museum, Omega has upgraded the “Extract from the Archives” service, which is now available online.
