Chronoswiss launches the Neo Digiteur, reinterpreting the 2005 original by founder Gerd-Rüdiger Lang. Two versions: Granit and Sand. Price €13,800

Chronoswiss has unveiled the Neo Digiteur, a reinterpretation of the early-2000s mechanical digital timepiece created by the founder of the brand, Gerd-Rüdiger Lang.

The original Digiteur, launched in 2005, traced its heritage to the mechanical innovation of the 1920s and 30s. 

This fully mechanical, handless wristwatch showcased rare and unconventional aesthetics, drawing inspiration from montres sans aiguilles (watches without hands). It was originally housed in a tailored rectangular case and produced as a limited series of 999 pieces in fine metals.

The relaunched Neo Digiteur comes in a reimagined rectangular stainless-steel case measuring 48 mm x 30 mm with a thickness of 9.7 mm.

A sandblasted horizontal segment on the case side adds lightness and contrast to the structured geometry, while polished edges refine the visual interplay.

The traditional onion shape crown is now flattened on the underside to improve both ergonomics and design coherence. Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM (50 metres / 165 feet).

Time is displayed through three crisply cut apertures: the jumping hour at 12 o’clock, digital minutes at the centre, and running seconds in a horizontal window at 6 o’clock. Together, they form a mechanical digital regulator.

Two editions are presented at launch, each limited to 99 pieces.

The Neo Digiteur Granit (ref. CH-1373.2-ANSI) features an elegant anthracite dial with vertical satin finishing and deep-blue sans-serif glossy numerals.

The Neo Digiteur Sand (ref. CH-1373.2-ROSI) is characterised by a warm 4N sandblasted dial and deep-blue serif glossy numerals.

Powering the display is the new hand-wound Chronoswiss Calibre C.85757, a tribute to the original Chronoswiss postal code from 1983.

Beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offering a 48-hour power reserve, the movement is fitted with a proprietary in-house module developed entirely by Chronoswiss which manages the energy demands of the jumping hour system while ensuring the smooth progression of the minute and second discs.

The bridges and wheels are partially hand-guilloché, crafted in-house at the Atelier Lucerne and visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Paired with black nubuck leather straps, the Chronoswiss Neo Digiteur is priced at €13,800. chronoswiss.com
