Maurice Lacroix Aikonic: new urban collection with innovative craftsmanship

Maurice Lacroix further develops the design first seen with the Aikon line in 2016 with the launch of the new Aikonic collection, a range that complements the Aikon while introducing its own identity.

The Aikonic stands out through what the brand based in Saignelégier calls “innovative craftsmanship,” expressed in the use of new case and dial materials, the introduction of a refined movement, and the integration of the patented ML EasyChange system.

The Aikonic introduces a distinctive carbon dial. Unlike traditional carbon weaves, the fibres run in a single north to south direction, creating alternating grey and black lines. 

Each dial is slightly different, giving every watch its own character.

Aikon enthusiasts will recognise the six double-width bezel arms, a design code from the first Aikon that also influenced the hands, hour markers and crown. 

Legibility is enhanced by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, which improves light transmission and increases resistance to salt water.

Available in stainless steel or black DLC-plated titanium, the case combines brushed and polished surfaces and is fitted with polished strap attachments. 

The crown and bezel are made of matt ceramic, a scratch resistant material that does not fade with time. 

The case measures 43 millimetres in diameter, 11 millimetres in height and offers water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.

The watch comes on a rubber strap with a textile-effect insert and is equipped with the ML EasyChange system, allowing quick strap changes without tools or visible catches.

Powering the Aikonic is the new ML1000 Calibre, developed with Soprod, with Soprod, a movement specialist located less than 10 km from Saignelégier. It runs at 4 Hz, delivers an accuracy of plus or minus four seconds per day and offers a 60-hour power reserve. 

The balance bridge, secured by two screws, improves stability and symmetry, while the large openworked oscillating weight reveals finely decorated bridges. Finishing details include blued screws, perlage and Côtes de Genève.
